Tracklogs ahoy!
Posted on May 7th, 2009Progress a little slow this week due to a nasty cold, but I now have the ability to download the tracklogs from a Garmin GPS over USB and display them on the map. Here’s the tracklog from my walk up to Pen y Fan at the weekend:

I plan to add the ability to review the speed and altitude profiles of tracklogs, but for now I’m focussed on helping the user review their activity and log their finds. Now that I can see where I’ve been, I want to be able to note which caches I found, and then log them as efficiently as possible. Ammotin will have its own web browser, with Greasemonkey-esque extensibility which will allow me and 3rd party extension authors to write scripts which can augment a webpage using information from the Ammotin database.
That might not sound exciting, but trust me, you’re going to love it.

In this grand pattern of things you’ll get an A+ for effort. Where you misplaced me personally was first on the details. As as the maxim goes, details make or break the argument.. And it couldn’t be much more accurate right here. Having said that, let me say to you just what exactly did do the job. Your article (parts of it) is very persuasive which is most likely why I am taking an effort to opine. I do not really make it a regular habit of doing that. Next, despite the fact that I can easily notice the leaps in reason you make, I am not really convinced of how you appear to unite the ideas which help to make the final result. For the moment I will subscribe to your point however hope in the future you link your dots much better.

With every little thing that seems to be developing throughout this area, all your viewpoints happen to be relatively radical. Nonetheless, I appologize, because I do not give credence to your entire strategy, all be it stimulating none the less. It looks to everyone that your commentary are actually not entirely rationalized and in reality you are generally your self not completely confident of your argument. In any case I did enjoy examining it.
